Psychology is the study of behavior. In this class we will explore the fascinating human brain and the wide world of human behavior. Topics covered will include: emotions and motivation, sensations and perceptions, stress, the brain, the personality, altered states of consciousness, abnormal behavior and the learning process. This class will be helpful in understanding yourself and others. DIPLOMA STUDENTS ONLY. Lab Fee of $15 due at registration.

Students will read, research, observe, discuss, or view various subjects in order to describe what is being studied, then interpret what is most important, useful, and relevant about the subject to present an outcome of what has been learned from the reflective writing process. This writing can describe a real or imaginary situation depending on the student's personal reflection.

Students will learn the connections between reading and writing through discussion and clear thinking. During the clear thinking strategy students recognize ideas and decide whether there is solid support for the ideas presented. These ideas will then be integrated to develop effective reading and writing skills.
