The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers classroom course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This course is for healthcare professionals, direct care workers, day care providers, and those who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. The course is also for community members that are ready, willing and able to offer a hand during a crisis. Material fee of $25 to be paid to instructor.

We’ll talk about the basics of soil science and how to enrich your soil to produce healthy, high-yielding plants. The course will also cover the fundamentals of making and using compost, the principles of crop rotation and how to incorporate green manures to manage nutrients in the garden. Other topics will include how to tell the difference between cultivated plants and weeds, basic weed control strategies and cultural methods for dealing with pests. The instructor will be an experienced farmer or gardener from your region. We will even send you home with free seeds! All are welcome, from first-timers to experienced gardeners who want to experiment with new techniques.

HEARTSAVER CPR/AED FOR ADULTS, CHILDREN, AND INFANTS

This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements. A 2 year certification card will be issued after successful completion of the course. If you have contact with patients at your workplace, you need BLS for the Healthcare Provider, not this class. There is a $25 material fee to be paid to the instructor the night of class.
