Some of the entry level information covered includes: profit and loss; banking; payroll; accounts payable and receivable; spread sheets and computerized accounting; cash receipts and expenses; taxes; inventories; and the basics of bookkeeping. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.

Learn how to type using Microsoft Word for Windows software. The first half of the semester will focus on learning the keyboard and basic computer functions; while the second half will focus on typing tests and building speed and accuracy. Students may develop a resume' as part of the class. Work at your own pace and get the skills needed in today's computer age. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program.

The course includes an introduction to electronic spreadsheets and how they are used; the difference between text, numbers, and calculating in Excel; creating and using formulas; right and wrong ways to enter a formula (and why); copying and pasting; drag-and-drop editing; formatting; printing; working with columns and rows; absolute references; and an introduction to charts. The intermediate portion of this course goes into a more advanced use of spreadsheet skills. It includes an intermediate level of formulas and functions; charting; using databases; working with multiple worksheets and workbooks; using HTML files; range names; labels in formulas; drawing objects and auto-shapes; PivotTables; using forms; importing data; and creating macros. This course may be used toward the Office Skills Certificate Program. Students must be experienced computer users with skills in keyboarding, navigating around files and folders, and basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word.
