Whether you've just purchased your first digital camera or you are an aspiring pro photographer, this course will give you the skills and inspiration to take your work to a new level. You will become more confident handling your camera and choosing settings that will help to produce the quality of images you desire. The course will include a combination of lectures, demos, handouts, slideshows, videos, and as much hands-on practice as possible. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate and allow some time to go out on the school grounds. There will be optional weekly assignments. Students should bring their camera with charged battery, at least one lens, a tripod, and extra memory cards to each class.

Handling Aggression will address the 3 stages of conflict and conflict management. How do you respond when someone comes up to you and speaks to you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable or pressured? How do you respond when you are faced with a situation that can easily get out of hand or have the potential to get physical? “Handling Aggression” is a course geared to teach specific strategies that deal with verbal disagreements as well as those situations that can escalate, get out of hand, and get physical. This 3.5 hour course will begin by focusing on verbal intimidation and how you can respond to someone who is trying to intimidate you or make you feel uncomfortable. When people try to push you around – how you respond can determine whether there is a positive or negative outcome. Specific strategies pertaining to body posture, tone of voice and verbal responses will be addressed. But what if a situation goes beyond words, maybe a relative or co-worker needs to be removed from a room before something bad happens? We then cover strategies that are used in the instance where the situation has gotten out of hand and “reasonable force” is needed in order to regain control of the situation. We will couple the de-escalation strategies with various avoidance techniques, physical restraining exercises and controlling tactics. The situations presented are geared for real life engagements for real life people we interact with day in and day out. Adults 18 and over are welcome to attend. No prior martial arts experience necessary.
