Have fun, learn something and grow together from the experience. That is what family karate at the Martial Arts Institute is all about. In fact, every child we teach trains with a parent in the SAME class. Families will learn traditional Goju Ryu karate in an environment that allows parents and kids to connect on a different level. Together families will be introduced to the physical skills of karate kihon (basics) and kumite (partner training). Families will be exposed to different aspects of character and emotional development, as well as how to translate these concepts into practical child-rearing techniques. This program is a means to articulate how martial arts training and traditional Okinawan philosophies can enhance and improve not only the life of the martial arts student, but that of their family as well.

Maybe you've been hearing about essential oils and are curious, or you just like finding ways to make gifts for others or things to use at home for yourself. Join me for an evening that will be fun and informative! Learn about essential oils, how they're made, and all the ways they can be used from making our houses smell good to replacing beauty products to supporting our physical and emotional health. You'll get to make a couple of goodies and get the recipes to make more! These are easy to make and are great to use for yourself or give as gifts for teachers, friends, family, and others. We'll be making fragrant bath salts that double as shower bombs and room sprays. We'll also make an all-natural cleaner to use around the house. I'll have some additional easy recipes for you to take with you.
