Introduction to iPhone Basics
with BoomerTECH Adventures (BTA)

The vast majority of iPhone users rarely access all of the available iPhone features.In this course, learn to use your iPhone to the best possible advantage.
Some critical features covered include Apple ID and password; structure of the iPhone (buttons and how they work);best apps to have and how to get them; how to text, phone, FaceTime, and email; how to use the Control Center; mastering Settings; updating operating systems; using key apps; and more.
An additional session will include iOS 15 updates and the unique features of the newest iPhones (iPhone 12 & 13).
AACE is pleased to partner with BoomerTech Adventures to offer fully asynchronous online courses students can complete on their own time and at their own speed.
Each course is a PDF booklet with information about the class, instructions for using the class, and the content of the class (videos and articles).
The three instructors provide personalized support for each class via email and /or online chat. The recommended time for each course is one month with 1 to 2 hours of work a week.Tech requirements for each course are a strong internet connection (or access to one) and a computer and/or tablet.

Using Zoom more than ever? Here is agreat way to learn everything you need to know about the Zoom Video Conferencing platform.
The course videos demonstrate examples of using Zoom on different devices—smartphones, tablets, and computers. Course content includes: Muting audio and video; using chat; screen sharing; recording; troubleshooting;scheduling meetings; break-out rooms; and more.
This course is appropriate for Zoom beginners as well as those who have used Zoom and want to learn more.

Digital Literacy
with Kenlyn Clark

Level one of the Digital Literacy Pathway covers the essential knowledge and skills that people need to be successful in the digital age.
Students will get an overview of fundamental software and hardware concepts, learn what it means to be a good digital citizen, learn how to search effectively online, create content, collaborate, and protect themselves and their reputation online.
This class is offered in-person as well as online. Tuesday/Thursdays 130-250P
Support labs are available in-person or online. Monday/Wednesday 130-250P
This course is offered as part of our Adult Education High School Diploma program by Computer Technology teacher Kenlyn Clark, as well as for the general public for just $20.
Microsoft Excel: Basic
with Kenlyn Clark

This course includes an introduction to electronic spreadsheets and how they are used, the difference between text, numbers, and calculating in Excel, creating and using formulas, right and wrong ways to enter a formula (and why, copying and pasting, drag and drop editing, formatting, printing working with columns and rows, absolute references and an introduction to charts.
This is an in-person offering, however offered online if requested. Rolling enrollment. Held on Tuesdays/Thursdays 5-630P with Kenlyn Clark.
Scrabble Meet-Ups

Scrabble Meets-Ups are a FREE opportunity to enhance your scrabble skills. Individuals, social pairs, competitive - whatever your experience level, you are welcome to come meet up and play!
We will have 3 levels of play: Teen (13-17), Social (just for fun), Competitive (timed)
Meet-Ups are held weekly on Thursdays, 2:30-4:30P
Although this is FREE, Registration is recommended so we can be prepared for participants and use this as a form of contact if the meet-up is cancelled for any reason.

The importance of reading to a child and spending the time together exploring the context of a book is endless. In these workshops, we have a read along and then a hands-on crafting adventure.
These Adventures are FREE to join! Parent/Guardian are encouraged to engage with the child(ren). We promote all hands on deck approach to learning!
It is REQUIRED that you register for these workshops so that we are able to accurately prepare books and materials for all participants.
StoryTime Adventures are held at Buker Community Center.
