Many people recognize the beauty of a caned chair. Yet the art of caning has almost become obsolete. Let's learn how. Caning a chair requires seven simple steps using basic tools. Please be willing to take your chair home to finish a step then move onto the next one in class. A small chair with the holes for caning is suggested. At the end of class, you will have that unique chair you caned yourself. Please bring your chair free of cane. The instructor will bring everything needed for the first class. Students will then be asked to bring in their own basic tools. The instructor will have the cane and extras for purchase at class. A $25 material fee is to be paid to the instructor the first night of class.

This course is designed for individuals who wish to enter the welding profession or enter a technical college program and/or test for the National Certification from the National Welding Society. The certificate preparation is aimed for SMAW structural plate and/or FCAW structural plate. This course does not cover pipe welding. This 90 hour experience will serve as a stepping stone to professional welding skills or millwrights and welding technology. There will be a focus on how to choose the right welding rod for the right job, oxy-fuel safety and handling techniques, and OSHA requirements. This course will cover Stick and MIG/Flux Core welding. This course is not for the hobbyist. Limited to 10 students.
