Students will gain a fundamental understanding of space and how it can be defined to benefit their life. Through lecture, demonstration, example, evaluation, and discussion, as well as exercises in architectural design, students will begin to understand the importance of good design in the built environment as well as learning some basic methods of architectural design. Material list:

Architectural Design

Supply List

*Mechanical pencil

*Fat and fine sharpie marker


*Roll of Canary trace paper

*Drafting tape or drafting dots/tabs (used to hold layers of trace           together and be able to once again separate)

*Ruler: regular ruler, or if you want to spend the money, an architects     Scale ruler

*Optional pad of 80 lb. paper 24x30 inches for presentation of drawing
